Questions of Life
V
When all the days have been counted
and all the night's dreams lived
Could we hope for anything more,
than to be loved?
If every bright star was a cherished wish,
would we gather them up, or let them stay
for all to see
And if along the way we dance in the shadow of the moon
Would that be enough?
Would feeling each others tears in our palms
cause us to sense the passing of time?
As a visitor time can not be touched or sustained
Rather we move through without notice,
drawing strength from one another without question or guilt
Would we not already have seen heaven before the shortness
of life's breath tries to echo in the chamber of our heart,
as we cross our time on this world
in the arms of those we love?
