Put the Light In the Window

Put the light in the window, I will look for it on my return. Darkness may blind me with shadows on the path but for home I long, search and yearn. Damp and cold may try to overpower, but inner heart desires seek to find love, home and hearth with every distant hour. There is nothing strong or fearful that can keep me far away except goodbye with every teary eyed cry I replay. Many things still live, babe in arms, family memories there, so many dreams and hopes, mom and dad’s loving care. Put the light in the window, I’ll see it from afar and I’ll find my way home by the distant evening star.
