Puppet Master

You hold my life by the strings You control me with those wooden planks You think you're the almighty God That gives lives meaning By making and controlling their destinies But you've tugged me left and right Controlled my life in every way If I manage to do something without your say You think I turn into Pinocchio With my nose growing with every breath I take But look at you Yours is 10 feet long But you hide it so well It doesn't stick out Like a sore thumb Then again who believes the person Who can't even cry for help I'm the puppet you're my master You think you save me from disaster With your wooden planks What's the point in living life If you can't learn from your mistakes? You think you help me But you're killing me from the inside out Starting out with every word you speak "You're not good enough" "You're nothing without me" And I believe you I don't have a life I'm a puppet Connected by your strings And I'm left in the dark Until you pick up the planks And play with me by your means
