Punch Between the Eyes
You left our friendship in shambles,
Cause I took the gamble,
Of letting you back in,
Of again calling you my friend.
You can't get over your selfish self
Taking your picture down off that shelf.
One thing I'll always regret,
Is being your friend to begin with.
Your jealousy helped me decide,
That its about time i get off this ride,
With you to hell,
And its too far to tell,
If I'll ever replace you,
Find someone that gets me like you do.
Like you did.
I'm thinking back to the words you said,
Aplogizing for leaving our friendship for dead,
"I'm sorry I picked him over you",
And I let you back in, thinking you were new.
And you smiled at me,
Said lets go back to normal.
I didn't realize,
Normal with you,
feels like a punch between my eyes.
And you threw away our friendship,
And you broke me down with words,
Ruined my self confidence,
Stabbed me with your swords,
And this is the last you'll see of me,
As I move on, and you become a memory,
Misguided choice on how to pick my friends,
Picking them like you causes an inevitable end.
Your jealousy helped me decide,
That its about time i get off this ride,
With you to hell,
And its too far to tell,
If I'll ever replace you,
Find someone that gets me like you do.
Like you did.
