Ptsd

Staunch, spine straight as a flagpole Chin tucked into neckfolds of flesh Face itch, lips blubber incessantly... Hips thrust forward... twin bulldozers Life expectancy, a speck in a sandstorm Rows of medals under gray sash, Iraq

My dad fought in WWII, his ptsd was so terrible after trekking to his hometown every summer to see the names on a memorial plaque of lost friends and cousins who gave their all. Thank you for sharing your poem Gershon, and to all who have bravely defended the fight for freedom. God bless you my friend!

Your poem certainly describes those that have gone to war and suffered for freedom's sake. Shame on anyone that would demean a person that has risk their life for freedom. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us through your insightful poetry, my friend. Bill

This is great Gershon. I wasn’t wrong awarding you the Medai of honor for acknowledging the military You are the only one of 6,000 poets who responded to my poem about the military. Thank you. BTW, when the wounded soldiers returned from Iraq to SF, Elena and I went to greet them. However, I wanted to punch out the Far Left who were there to spit on them and call the brave and crippled, ugly names. But will let God toss them into Hades! A fave, Pangie

Whoa! Spitting on soldiers who went to Iraq. How low can people go?! They wouldn't spit on Biden or Obama for sending soldiers somewhere. NO, they spit on the soldiers. The Home of the 'Brave' America is, let me tell ya... Truly, I am also a 'Man of the Left:' I wish that all those who have ever spit on soldiers had already left the country. :) gw
