Psalm 1
God's blessing falls on the man
who rejects the wickedness way
refuses walking along with sinners
staying upright no matter what scoffers say
This man is delighted by God's holy law
seeking to make it his meditation
all of the day and even in the night
so to learn more of God on every occasion
A well planted tree resembles this man
for it also bears good seasoned fruit
as streaming water bears it's leaf
so prospering it does suit
The wind drives the wicked away
likened to the chaff as before
for they can't stand in judgement
as sinners at the righteous door
The righteous way the Lord knows well
for God's eyes penetrates everything
showing the wicked and their ways
will perish as God judges sin
AUTHOR NOTES:
Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
The wicked are not so,
but are like chaff that the wind drives away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
for the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.
