Promises Promises

You’ve fallen from grace you put me back in my place when the honesty you promised me blew up in my face. The doubt and mistrust gave way to disgust as you threw on your jacket and ran for the bus. If I chased after you what good would it do? I’d compromise your endless lies for just a taste of truth! But your sense of honor’s cold from all the lies you’ve told and I just don’t see sincerity this pattern’s gettin’ old. I now slump to the lawn there’s no sense in goin’ on you seem to fight all the rights that in your eyes are “wrong.” If it’s over anyhow why bother with your vow? - to be one of integrity means nothing to me now.

Sad my friend, once the lies start they never seem to end. Hopefully that bus is on a one way trip and you now stand on that lawn witnessing a brighter future. Nicely done Gayle.

When honesty is gone it makes a relationship unbearable...I wish you the best
