Probate

A cracked windowpane. A few daffodils peek their heads through the weeds that grow tall where flowers once smiled. Purple nettle chokes the life from any grass courageous enough to try to stand in its way. Birds tweet their dismay the feeders are all empty— No signs of life here

I enjoyed reading your wonderful "Probate" Haibun write/great story. As a child we had daffodils lining the driveway. It was so pretty. Have a fun day writing away................

you have such a way of creating memorable Haibuns. The story at the beginning was descriptive without being wordy; it reminded me of the last time I visited my grandmother's vacant house on the Kansas prairie. I felt sadness as I read the Haiku. Well done, Jerry. You are officially dubbed the "Haibun King." :-)

It sounds so desolate. I hate to see abandoned houses, gardens, or anything that could bring joy. Thank you for this slice of the other side.
