Prison of Pain

Locked in a cell...bound in shackles and chains Scarring my soul and bleeding my brain It feels like 4ever but it's just another day How I long to be free from this prison of pain Put on display my sad smile fades away Yesterdays into tomorrows...they all go just the same Today I'm still confined in confusions steel cage How I long to be free from this prison of pain I beg and I plead on dirty knees While gruesome guards grip golden keys They promise me a future as all hope it goes away How I long to be free from this prison of pain I'm seeking a sign as I search for a savior Like a man lost at sea I need a life saver God pulls me above as I'm gripped in His grace 4ever now free from this prison of pain

Funny you should ask...I actually wrote that poem, and many others, when I was incarcerated.Believe it or not prison can give a disturbed mind some real depth
