Precious Memories

The cool air drifts through the trees Carrying along precious memories Of your laugh and your smile Happier times, its been a while There was a time when we wandered these hills So much in love, I remember it still Young lovers facing the world A brave young man and a bright eyed girl Many seasons have come and gone It doesn't seem like its been that long When we were young, strong and running free I only wanted you and you me Fate has taken you away But I feel your whispers here today As the cool air drifts through the trees Carrying along precious memories

Beautiful ~ life is not fair. Sadness and heartache sure make great material for lovely poetry though ~

Those precious memories are like gold Timothy, we revisit them often more so when we're feeling down. Tom

You are right friend. It does not take much to trigger a memory. Like a cool breeze in the trees, thank you

Another beauty! You are on fire! I like the way you used those repeated lines. The opening stanza is its own poem. The last one is too. Enjoyed this wistful write.
