Prayer

When it comes to prayer I feel inadequate to the task Unsure what to ask for Selfishly requesting the things I want even though I know You are not a genie confined to a bottle Please help me to see beyond the me my child like needs Freedom can't be found in the temporary Help me to lift others on my words to Your loving hands Coat my tongue with Your praises Let thankfulness rise from my page Infuse me with Your compassion for all that I have and am belongs to You Let me be Your instrument allow Your music to flow through my veins Help me to hold nothing back with my hands please hold the poor Use my broken for Your cause My selfish prevents me from seeing with Your eyes I realise I need to let it go For You are my King, brother, sister, wife, friend and mother Every ounce of special in my life The cup of Love that overflows Seeds of happy that you have sewn Let them grow until every branch reaches towards Your generous and Holy Heart Amen For Regina's Prayer contest

You always know how to bring me up, Richard. I guess poetry can be a form of prayer... maybe prayer doesn't only mean bowing your head and closing your eyes. Perhaps it's just a humble communication between Man and God... in whatever shape it takes.

I am speechless Richard... you a have a heart that's a mile wide. I think what you wrote is what we'd all like to pray for, but not all of us have the words to articulate those feelings. I remember the first time I truly prayed, and it came so unexpectedly I wasn't prepared for it. I was reading Psalms and it wasn't until I reached Psalms 39: 4-7 that my eyes started to water... that feeling of utter thankfulness... well, I've never had it since and I'm envious of it.

A beautiful prayer..Just beautiful..Many times my prayers are selfish pagan prayers,by time I am learning to pray the lord for the needs of orhers and I'd let it be in his hands to think of my needs,But ha!!Again..Others needs, my needs..The selfish part in me still there.Still aiming to earn from God.A nice prayer like yours would make Him happy I believe.Yes,to.be thankful and praise him for all the blessings in our life would tickle. Him sweet and make Him glad..Amen.

Thanks Charmaine, he knows us and he wants a relationship with us. We can bring all things to him and trust that he has our best in mind which means he may not answer some of our prayers in the way we want.

oh my gosh, I can't think of a better prayer than this one. I cannot even attempt the contest now. hahaha. I am not that prayerful and honestly, I am not sure what I'd write!!

Approach your prayer as a conversation. You are sensitive and eloquent, I have no doubt you will come up with something. God's ear and heart anticipate your visit with great excitement.
