Power of My True God
My true God is my heavenly father
He's a humble and glorious One
He forged love inside my soul
Born from misery, slavery, and pain
Showing me what my brother
his beloved son went through
Being mocked, shamed, and spat apon
When he walked on this earth
to redeem the plight of mankind
Reserved for only those who
accept discipline and repent
So I can be taken up in glory
This is something
only a true God can bestow
On a contrite and repentant soul
It is a free gift given
Its not an earned reward
My heavenly body
is reserved for me
Awaiting my rebirth
And a new name
Only he can know
Jesus told the religious leaders in his day
that the whores and the extortioners
were going ahead of them
into the kingdom of God.
Why? Because they were humble, repented,
and accepted discipline.
