Afraid I have to side with your husband on that my friend. I prefer cabbage, rutabagas and ham hocks served with corn bread. Good job here though. God Bless, JB

Oh, it looks like a winner to me, Carol! I'm not sure about the kraut either, but then again I've never made any. Still, you both are blessed to be enjoying this meal together! Best wishes to you and yours! Love Mikki

It sounds like a marriage of nations. I'm from PA. and my wife is from GA.. My crockpot was full of saurkraut, kielbasa and hotdogs this Sunday. I would have had the pork too but my crockpot and blood pressure couldn't handle it. I don't see a need to enter the contest because it would be plagarism. Good job and I hope you put the bay leaf in the black eyed peas. Good luck in the new year. Rockman. :-)

OMG!! I've never put those letters together before until this poem. You must be a Yankee. Me too. I have my kraut and kielbasa and hotdogs in the fridge right now. But my crockpot will be on fire Sunday. Do you put a bay leaf in the black eyed peas for him? It's said in the South that whoever gets the leaf in their bowl has good luck the rest of the year. Thanks for this write. :-)

Hi Carol, do you remember that even Captain Cook took Sauerkraut on his voyages and he had no loss of his crew due to skurvy? Sauerkraut goes well with pork and there are certain ways to prepare it to quit its acidity. Enjoyed your funny write and wish you best of luck in the contest!...Love, Gert
