Why do politicians make speeches When all they say is to deceive When will we find a leader Who'll give us reasons to believe Why do they sacrifice our young And smother us with lies How can they justify their actions While another mother cries The pride, the passion that we once had Has been slowly taken away Why do they continue to make promises That it will change someday How long will people look away While politicians mislead our youth How long can a government exist When it exists so far from the truth When will we return to the dream That we lost along the way Where all God's people live in peace And hate and anger fade away If race or creed make a difference In the way that people see If one man is judged for his beliefs Then none of us are free.
