Poetry Pays It Forward
There's a part in everyone
That tells stories just for fun
For a laugh or memories
But setting emotions free
A few selected will use words
To have real stories heard
Feelings from way inside
Building up, no longer hide
So on paper they explode
Releasing a heavy load
From lifetimes of pain and sorrow
Words that will be read tomorrow
Touching someone for the better
Each carefully chosen letter
Is placed side by side so gently
Creating art so thoughtfully
Pictures forming with each line
A well planned thought out design
Hoping it can find a way
To lift someones up today
Who is down and really low
Needing and inspiration glow
To light up a world so dark
Searching their eyes soon will lock
On a captivating poem
Telling them they're not alone
Hope and faith are what they need
Day by day they will succeed
In defeating clouds so dark
If a light inside their heat
Shines with feelings they can be
Sorrow, hurt and pain free
Writing troubles far away
So that maybe one great day
The "words" of art they create
Will save someone from the fate
Of despair once felt through
Someone saved by words of you
