Poetry In Motion
Poetry in motion is like singing a song,
With words their meaning, short or long;
Thought expressed with feeling of the written word,
An expressive idea carried as if on the wings of bird.
Gaiety, festivity, dedication or sorrow words meant,
Even to cherish, share, or a way to just vent;
Carefully scribed from thought, said or just done,
The poet can be serious or write just for fun.
A long time ago many stories were poetically told,
Some became treasure and thus never grew old;
Rhythm, familiarity, or just were easy to say,
Poems that endure, even now, to this day.
As we ride the winds of time so much can be said,
The very essence of poetry that dance in ones’ head;
Not for fame, nor fortune, not even for fleeting power,
A symphony of lovely words like the beauty of a flower.
For as long as man lives and is able to clearly think,
He will express his feelings with song, verse, or drink;
In his bed, at his work, or just a sudden notion,
He will happily sing a song with poetry in motion
