Poetry For the Masses

Make your poems clear so that they can be understood by all who read them Clarity should be you goal The truth should not be in the hands of a few But should reach the hearts of the masses Humor has its place, assuredly But poets must work hard to get their respective messages across Some people say that Bob Dylan and Mr. Springsteen are the true poets They have great talent no doubt But words on the page (read in Silence) can enter the heart's core and change you forever Peace, poetic brothers and sisters

Well said Matthew, If it's not from the heart and soul it will not grab you into it. You have to feel the poem. Anne

This is beautiful in it's simplicity and I love the message you send here. When words are written from the heart you can feel it, and that is exactly how I think all poetry should be written. Keep it simple and soulful, just as you have here! A wonderful write, Matthew!

My thoughts EXACTLY. There is a magazine I published in a few times called Lucidity. You might want to check it out if the magazine is still going. It had a very nice format! The name for it is awesome. Clarity is the other great name for what you describe!

bobby D. spoke to me. Springsteen smoked YaH and played with too much scream. Poetry is where it's kept well and thorough , keep it gritty in the city, from Queens Bridge down thru Avenue L Brooklyn, hell any borough!
