Poetry

I write all kinds of things, about my husband. He does not have a clue, to what it means. If he was to sit and write. I wonder what he would write about me. Thank GOD for poetry. A language that not everybody get. S.K.A.T. POETRY 2-26-10

Loved your poem, I have the exact same thoughts about my husband and poetry. It made me smile:) And I'm glad he doesn't for I too don't get his machines and math.

I always seem to come back to this poem when thanking you for a win that i truly treasure. I believe that was my first "trophy" win you just gave me. But it was a real old poem so nobody will ever see that trophy next to it unless they go way back in my pages. haha. Love these contests you are having!! I spent half an hour tracking down golden oldies for your future contests. Have fun. I bet you are getting SO many good ones!!

Hi SKAT, thanx for your welcome to PoetrySoup and the support for my poem "There Is A Me". No everyone gets the gist of what poets write. That's a pretty "language" for us to self-express.

Dear SKAT, Thank you for your warm welcome. You are most gracious, most generous. Poets are special people. They say the madness of poets is divine. That's why they give us a "poetic license". They have to keep track of us and whatever we might be up to! ha ha - Cordially, Franklin

I liked it. Thank you. I often wonder how non-poets feel. Thank God for poetry to give us an outlet for our feelings

So true! We poets write in our own unique language. I am the only person I know who writes poetry, anyway, so I don't have this problem! Great little piece of poetry here!....Thank you for the nice comments on my poem. It means a lot! I have never won a contest before today!

This is true.Because I always have to explain certain parts of my poems, when I read them to a close friend. And that is the beauty of poetry.

you deserve a better husband, a husband and wife should hold a bonding of genuine love.your love is deep, through your love writes, and only need that guy to profess your love to.you're caged and still a young adult woman.it's sadder than people say it is.because they are missing something entirely.i wrote idiot because i felt like an idiot that day, i got in a fight with my boyfriend which barely happens over the event and i cried that day.we all think that way.and you aren't an idiot.take care

That is just so, Irma! But poetry cannot be explained. There are always people who won't understand and also others who can! Great Free Verse, Irma! Keep your pen flowing! Gert

This is so true of some modern, intellectual poetry. I suppose the poets have people like me in mind. "Keep your distance!" they say. I like your poem mucho. Love, daver
