Poems Are Outstanding With ability to write poems have been gifted; Many people's spirits they have uplifted Brought on humor and also peace and quiet And never have heard anyone ever deny it. Am a a lover or poems which are literary Which to some may seem somewhat scary Forming a poem by putting words together That end up tickling you like a feather. Out loud you laugh or just show a smile And I have never had a period of denial Some who may call this grand-standing When I say my poems are outstanding. James Thomas Horn Retired Veteran

All fine poems are outstanding. Those that are truly substandard may be to the author but are not to me. Comments of praise given to bad poems just encourage more of the same from that author. I think poets should encourage others but not falsely praise them. Your write is a very good one and has a fine message.

Oh, and I might add that my wife seems to think I am crazy and insane at the same time with my poetry writing. Now there is quite a combination. She thinks I have a poetry writing manic depressive disorder. What does everyone think about that?

Robert, It is very difficult to define what a really good poem is. I might read it one day and it has no meaning at all. I have an experience that can be related to the poem and this makes it clearer. Its like you need all the information leading up to the production of the poem to understand it better. I highly agree with you regarding false accusations and false pride. I have good time writing poems and more I do it the easier it becomes to write even if I am 73 and married for almost 48 years now. Jim Horn
