Poem For Lady

In the castle of her longings She awaits the drawbridgr lowering In her piled days many endings Times anxiety behind her panting She awaits the coming of her love Sir knight with constant memories Her heart within her a restless dove Until the water dries ... agonies. She is castled in time and faith The green moat of doubt circles round The sweet heart's primeval gate The horse' hoofs is every distant sound Time is her enemy and his will Her deliverer to become His quick sword shines in the misty chill He's made his vow for her freedom. Great stead and lover swiftly fly Dragons and demons, churls and despots Read anxiety dread in his eye The sun will rise where their vile blood clots For this knight carries a cross now long And prayer his page and armour He marches with an angelic throng Till him to flee, he that devour His bride, his bride his love shall redeem And by the river they shall play For time is only folly and dream In love's pure arms time has no say.

Lyrical beauty, except for pronouns, almost Victorian.

What a beautiful ending to this one. This poem made me think of Guinivere and Lancelot in Camelot! Well, not exactly, but parts of it did! Luv, Andrea

Hello there mighty Shango!!! Any time to look down from your great stead, on a poor damsel in distress? Waiting for her deliverer, the avenging knight sent from the Great King! Love and blessing to you sir. Joy (Jew)
