Listen to poem:
Dad where are you going? Can I come this time? Yesterday’s done and the years have gone by Your friends on the corner get older each day I guess that doesn’t matter, you leave anyway Promises, promises, never to keep You made me then left me, that knife cuts me deep I know you by face, you hang on my wall But other than that I don’t know you at all Please don’t leave me Please don’t leave me I’ll be good for you, Pa On the streets of life, one lives or dies And I can’t make it alone Please don’t leave me alone Mom where are you going? I’m only a child I know you are too but we can’t reverse time We’ll make it together just give it a chance And you can still go out and you can still dance The day that you left me rained, chilly and cold Just like my heart now is calloused and old Mother, dear mother I ask you today Why must I be hurt this way? Please don’t leave me Please don’t leave me I’ll be good for you, Ma On the streets of life, one lives or dies And I can’t make it alone Please don’t leave me alone
