Playin' Man

A completely true story.... My grandpa was a playin' man He had a local four piece band I was without a doubt his number one fan Grandpa and music went hand in hand Get together's on Saturday night A little moonshine to start out right Dancin' a jig under stars so bright Dancin' and playin' until mornins' light My grandpa was a playin' man He played harmonica in his four piece band I was was without a doubt his number one fan Grandpa and music went hand in hand Singin' songs of long ago Happy voices singin' way down low Grandpa puttin' on quite a show Where he learned those songs I don't know My grandpa was a playin' man His guitar makin' magic in that four piece band I was without a doubt his number one fan Grandpa and music went hand in hand Fiddles screamin' out loud and clear Folks would gather round from far and near Everybody grinnin' from ear to ear Those memories to me are oh so dear My grandpa was a playin ' man! ©Donna Jones

Darlin', you had me at the moonshine. The music grandpa created was more genuine than anything heard today.... Mandolin pickin' and Banjo strummin' would have fit right in.... Great tribute to Grandpa..... I loved it...... Jake

His music came from deep within. That's the way it's always been. A joy to hear your heart sing so. Two minutes left, I have to go. :) Library computor. :)

It was such fun growing up in my huge family.. poor but always together...too many cousins to count and aunts and uncles. Music and food. Love and laughter. I was and am blessed.
