Play the game of Life in your red Converses. Try to spit it out, only get these blank verses. Nothing does it justice and I can’t find the words To tell you that I’m sorry that your voice was never heard. It’s absurd And you’re gone And we can’t change the past. We were there to help you- all you had to do was ask. But we really should have noticed that this wasn’t just a bruise. A little blip in life when we thought you were confused. You lit the fuse And we were shocked but the signs were so apparent. We chose to brush it off though you made yourself transparent. You played the bass lines and you sure gave it your all But your all was not enough and you’d slowly start to fall. Fading into solitude away from all your friends. Your clouded thoughts were painful and you said it’s gotta end. Couldn’t pretend That you were stable. It wasn’t just alright. Your tunnel got much darker- at the end you saw no light. You’re reaching out for help as you slowly start to slip. No one’s there to catch you, only graze your fingertips As you stumble slowly downwards to the cold unknown below. I’m sorry that I wasn’t there. I just want you to know That I’ve thought about you often and it’s been over a year. And I’m sorry that it took this long. I wish you were still here.
