Pirate Joe was drinking rum from a keg Fell overboard and a shark had his leg They hauled him back in And stopped the bleedin And chippy fitted him with a wood peg. Of good quality you could see the grain Joe said " it's great to be walking again But as time went by Wood started to dry And wet rot set in because of the rain. One day his peg fell off with a loud thump And now Joe has one good leg and a stump But the story I'm told He had one made of gold Now he drags it with a hop, skip and jump... Very entertaining, Tom. At least this is one pirate who made use of his treasure instead of burying it out of sight :) Regards // paul

Great Limerick Tom. It was fifty, fifty at twelves years old whether I lost a leg or not, thank goodness I didn’t. If I’d had a leg made of gold I’d be worth a lot even though I’ve grown old… Belle

H Tom We ofTen see a young man at the Supermarket, he has a prosthesis, he body builds obviously at a Gym, and he tans a very nice color. He wears shorts, his leg not a human like leg it was his whole leg from the thigh to his feet an aluminum one with a joint at the knee and he wore modern shoes. Your pirate must have been rolling in money to make a gold leg loved your poem TOM Blessings Jennifer.

Like all of your previous limericks, this one was a great pleasure to read. As soon as his gold-plated leg attracts the notice of an attractive lady, he will be in high demand. Take care and have a safe weekend

This matches with the spirit of a perfect limeick....Tom ! I enjoyed seeing the image of Pirate joe on his wooden leg ! He must have made lot of money from his 'profession' to have replaced it with a gold leg !

A sea shanty like Limerick, reminds me of the Dubliners (All for me grog) for some reason, we used to sing it as kids in school, excellent fun writing, cheers David
