Pier of Eyes
Lights flood the old baywalk
With male eyes, dewed sapphire
Haunting as tender lyre
0n wharf’s café.
The wind fondles a tune
As we dine without shame
To borrow night’s remains
For brief affair.
Though the pier thins its net,
We meet in secrecy
Perhaps it shouldn’t be;
While eyes linger.
