Picked For His Pleasure
When having been believer a few years
things got tough as life went offbeat
made redundant but happily got new job
but didn’t like it wasn’t up my street
O Lord what are you doing to me?
my questions soared up heavens way
this was not the way I had hoped for
mockery and pressure was order of the day
This went on for quite a few years
had few job offers but none for me
so God still seemed so far away
but maybe my Lord did not agree
For His word clearly declares His truth
I’ve chosen you before the earth was made
God’s truth stands over all our struggles
this assured me so would never fade
Salvation truly is of the Lord
picked by the Lord for His pleasure
to keep and to hold for all eternity
this is the believers blessed treasure
