Phases
Darkness falls
Separate, are heart and mind
Melancholy calls
And governs for a time
December, it is
In my icy heart of hearts
I await spring’s kiss
To oblige the cold’s depart
I fear not the frost
Will be forever present
I merely pay the cost
For delight well spent
The flowers will come
Then die, and come again
Somber days are some
Harm done, the sun will mend
The pieces of my being
On scales, always they lie
Tomorrow is worth seeing
Should I laugh, or cry
