Perspective
To me, today felt very cold,
Though I was dressed to take it.
A film I’d seen kept popping
In my thoughts; I couldn’t shake it.
It told the story of a plane
That crashed in frigid weather
And how survivors lasted,
Somehow keeping it together.
The cold that they experienced
I’ve never felt in person,
Where freezing temps in daylight,
Once the night falls, only worsen.
Complaining when we’re cold, of course,
Is something quite subjective,
But certain situations put things
Clearly in perspective.
