Persian Sonnet

Persian Sonnet: Candle and the Sun Persian Sonnet: Candle and the Sun I heard a candle talking to the sun, asking him why he must be so bright. How fun it is to look at you tonight! When the day is gone, the moon is the one. Shadows are breaking, yet figures may run, I shall be lighting all lovers all night. Making sweet illusion of night, delight, and close their day when lover’s night is done. How beautiful is it when you’re gone? I’ll be the reason for lovers to be, Then we live until the very break of dawn, and they see only what their heart will see. How magnificent is it to live on? Although it’s just a night, it’s life for me. 1/20/16 Haloo

Each poetry of yours it is a rewarding experience. From other perspective, looking the same truth (beyond the philosophical/religious/political community = Indeed, how many candles must burn to see the true Light? How much suffering/sacrifice till people understand these are not necessary for a real spiritual life?

My dear Ovidiu, I'm done with religious and political views. I am seeking the truth and hopefully, I'll find it. Thanks for reading my work. All the best...

Thanks Scott...I wanted to try something different... I am more a Ghazal and Masnavi guy than anything else...being a Persian has its own problems. :) Thanks again

I will never be able to look at candles the same way. See what you have done to me!!! So, now I look at all sources of light just a little differently--that's not a bad thing, I guess. Our words leave their mark on each other. So, may I commend you and thank you for the perspective.

Yes, Candle is the ultimate sign or source for love in Persian literature. It either dies "to give light",or "it kills" it lovers (moth)(you've read my question, I have a stanza about moth and candle). Thank you Duke. By the way are you truly the DUKE of Beaufort South Carolina?

"Ja" is used to indicate agreement with a positive statement, simply means yes! We do know what "nice" means.... So, YES NICE .... thank you very much.
