Perseverance

Reframing my mind A sculpture in time A masterpiece put on display The sculptor it seems Had grandiose dreams Began molding his wet lumps of clay Penchant for knowing Ebbing and flowing Oceans rearranging the sands Some discipline here Some patience there Somehow never changing his plans Flawed clay he had Prone to go bad His project was easy at first As the mud grew colder His hands grew bolder The fastidious old man became terse Adding final details Persevered to prevail Paused to examine his work Glazed and fired Time transpired As the shadows tugged at his shirt He never knew His dream had come true Through his toil and tears came success The blueprint he was using Though somewhat confusing His creation lives on to impress an original poem by the "poemdog" Daniel Turner in memory of my Dad

This is a sweet tribute to your dad Daniel. I used to sculpt ages ago in my youth. One day I hope to return to it. I so enjoyed this clever poem and your ending was wonderful! #7

Thank you, Connie. S1 and I have been talking about our dads and I wrote this one for my dad. We didn't always see eye to eye and had a very tumultuous relationship. Now that he is gone I regret it. I appreciate your kindness and I always like looking at your pretty icon Peace lovely lady:)
