Performance

The velvety tones of a saxophone drifted gently into the air, and even the idle chatter of the club's patrons did not spoil the effect. In fact, the spell cast by the music caused the muttering to slowly dissipate as each melody was recognized with slowly widening smiles. What started as background music took center stage and became a performance, with the player acknowledging applause and taking a bow.

I'm still in the gutter (See "Spent Adult") because I read your other poem first, then saw this was called "Performance" and wasn't sure I needed to know! I think this is the point where I should tell you I was a Construction Site Secretary for years. Anyway, I enjoyed this - I love a good Sax (and I mean Sax - can't get out of the gutter) ... CayCay

I've always wanted to play the trumpet... I am a drummer, but the trumpet seems more fascinating to me. Thanks for a cool review daddeo! Best wishes, Keith
