Peace In Solitude
Were peace in solitude the fondest wish of man,
The light of dawn could scorch it with its heat.
Were his great mind a large expanse of sand,
The dark blue sea could hide it in the deep.
Our hasty sun, undaunted, goes to sleep
And leaves behind a world with many fools,
Whose great delight is learning how to keep
The honest man ignored and bound by rules.
Betrayed, the humble plod into the night
But feel no anger, grief, regret or fear:
The deep abyss itself can spread its light
When its rare crystals sparkle true and clear.
May purest hearts have peace like the calm sea,
Avoid the world’s abuse and wander free.
