Peace Be With You

Peace be with you are the words she said Flowers placed appropriately Saying goodbye to the dead. She wasn't false And yet, it wasn't true Because there were things She just couldn't undo. A while she stayed And many things she did pray But in her head is where the words would remain For if she dared speak them aloud, she knew her heart would break. When the sky took upon an orange glow She knew that it was time to go. To leave them there was harder Much harder, than she’d imagined. But her mother had told her many times before, “Rest easy my child. Today it hurts, but tomorrow, it’s a new day. It won’t bare the pain of yesterday anymore.” With that in mind She made to leave, Hoping that the souls left behind, Would find peace. And forgive her, for the words she wished to keep.
