Passing of time

I sink just under senses dampened you cannot get my attention I'm switched off from you don't test this water electricity runs through it leave me alone in a lesser world I emerge gentleness reimagined me I look to you for my whole self half dissolved, lost recollection make the right noises let me trust you want me affirm my existence I am the product of meandering time Life and death and frustration Aches and potential flow through my veins Fight and surrender jostle for space All of the nothing and everything I could be I don't know if the next life will be mine Or if I am made up of memories Maybe this never belonged to me And I'm just carrying my part forward As best I can If so these days did and didn't matter
