Paper Lion

Paper Lion He was a paper lion With a crayola coloured mane When he sprung from the page She thought she was insane He rose there from the floor Transformed into a man Destined to become her lover Sculpted body bronzy tan He lacked no ounce of courage As he reached out for her face When he pulled her towards him Her heart began to race A most ravenous beast Her clothes he stripped away He fulfilled her wanting passions In his hands she was the prey Power leapt from his body As he let out a ferocious roar His majesty from paper Jungle Had her screaming out for more Looking there into his eyes Her confusion mixed with lust She didn't want to stop him Yet her brain said she must She pushed him away How could this dream be real Her body and her mind Kept spinning like a wheel When she refused to believe He was returned to the page The worlds saddest paper lion Again locked in his paper cage.

A modern sexy fairy tale; the lion will find his way out of the cage because it's just paper that he will tear into pieces because love must win and we are all naive and creative kids in adult bodies and fairy tales need happy endings. So, dear Richard-Coeur-de-Lion, back to crayola and paint hope into this misery! Hugs, Hanitra

I have a painting of a lion hanging in my office. My dad painted it for me on silk. The mane is multicolored. Absolutely gorgeous. Wish you could see it. One of my students gave a present to me that is a pic of me she got off facebook and a lion photo-shopped together. It hangs in my office. Everyone knows I adore lions! n my home hangs a pic that a former student gave me of three Asiatic lions. I LOVE LIONS! Your poem is beyond words. One of your absolute best!!! SERIOUSLY!!!!! Faving it.

Thanks Eileen, when I came here Quatrain was my primary form of poetic expression. So glad you enjoyed it. So your dad is artistic as well, how about your daughter?

BTW...I got a lovely compliment recently...Had me flying. A woman said to me, "You have such lovely and full hair...Just like a lion's mane!" I was ecstatic. BTW...Richard, you don't often do quatrains...This one was SO SO smooth flowing...the words you used...the descriptions....just absolutely awesome! Loved it!
