Paparo
The long winter comes slowly to a close
With no regrets or sadness she stirs;
Memories of past springs have warmed her soul
And seeded hopes of summers to come
As the air sweetens with the blooming of flowers and trees,
The soft casing begins to rustle and shake
As the stretching wings push aside their cover
And soon, the drab cocoon bursts open
Now she feels the warming air, hears the singing birds
And sees the waiting beauty of the world
Her world, her time, to see and feel and do
Spring’s here, winter’s over, summer’s coming, Paparo
