Papa, Mama and Winnie

I’ve placed it in the most visible place This old photo of black and white Taken in 1943, the edges worn and frayed Papa, Mama, and Winnie, eyes so bright Though one by one they’ve all gone Each leaving a legacy of love and faith And while sweet memories linger on This beautiful photo transmits still When I gaze at beautiful eyes so soft Rare warmth and gentleness reside Dressed in their best, wearing subtle smiles Beauty forever captured survives! ~*~ 3/03/13 Roland Carey+ Ayeko Carey+ Winnifred Carey-Valentine+ Inspired by a beautiful photo of my parents and eldest sister...R.I.P.

There is something special about meaningful words in groups of three, and you integrated them into the poem here beautifully, Annalise.

such memories. I love this one from you. I had an Aunt Winnie and she died of cancer last year but nobody even told me. I had to have my Xmas card returned to even find out!!

Coincidentally one of my poems today was reminiscing about my first wife Linda and the way she ended each phone conversation! "Okay Then, Alright Then, Toodle-Loo, Bye-Bye!" Sweet memories... big huggeroonies! xox

Beautiful poem, my mother has a big box of photographs, and most of her black & white pictures she keeps close by. Thank you.
