Papa

The man who shared all my memories growing up including all my fears, Is the same man that never made me shed any tears. He was always there for me no matter what was going on, Even after all these years it’s hard to believe that he’s gone. He read me stories and tucked me in a night, He sheltered me from my parents when they use to fight. He taught me how to drive at thirteen years old, He always had a cure for me when I had the flu or a cold. He took care of me because I was his pride and joy, He tried not to act like it around other grandchildren but everyone knew he was being coy. He loved me unconditionally and this I was always sure of, But losing him made me feel like there was no God above. Although he taught me more than at that time I could understand, I realize now he is still walking with me holding my hand. I loved my “papa” and fifteen years later I still miss him so, How I would give anything to hear him yell “sister” and off running I would go.
