Pain of Delight
IF IT HURTS SO BAD WHY DO WE DO IT CONTEST
Sponsor: Silent One
The pain of delight is why I choose to feel,
The afterglow of choices brings me gravity,
Hurting so bad is how I choose to heal,
The less I choose to know the more depravity.
The reasons behind my decisions can’t be defined,
For life makes circumstances tough to reveal,
My only hope is that my pain is not designed,
In a way that my soul begins to utterly conceal.
Beliefs in miracles rearrange my train of thought,
Changes and chances brings a life so confined,
For justice I have so hard trained for and fought,
I see the distance with right and wrong combined.
There are possibilities beyond the eye of my inner core,
For years there have been opportunities I have sought,
But the truth be told I could not ask for more,
There are times I act wildly and never get caught.
My motives for my pain have not answered my reasons,
My pain brings much more happiness than before,
Why do I keep going when I hurt for many seasons?
Because the pain of delight is what I choose to adore.
