Overwhelming

death cannot endure eternity ~ if it could we’d never be born (quote by poet) Find rhapsody, great rhapsody, fomenting on high seas Come lift up waves of despondency, I’m flailing so deep Bamboozle revenant senses, restore my latent zeal Overwhelm one million fold, melancholy drowning me Find ecstasy, give ecstasy, paralyse me with bliss I’m hooked on saline solution, and compelled to resist Rejuvenate exuberance, nullify emptiness I want to be possessed again, in a wild wanton kiss Find buoyancy, come buoyancy, aerate this lowly soul Raise me up to the firmament, let heaven take control I’ll face down blackest ether, see beyond its parasol Never again to sit stagnant, just to bow shall I stall Find gravity, sheer gravity, falls short on temple steps Pressurising in nature, stopped dead in a gods codex Free now to bathe in mercy, overcome but not by depth Expanding on forever, where beginnings intersect By David Kavanagh Howmanysyllables checked x14

"Rejuvenate exuberance, nullify emptiness/ I want to be possessed again, in a wild wanton kiss" At times we feel so down. Oscillating between highs and lows is common to all of us, humans. But the ability to bounce back is the quality we need. It makes the true difference. An amazing poem, dear David.

Absolutely Valsa, the ability to bounce back and persevere with life is the ultimate test for us humans, you see life as it really is, and it’s a testament to your prowess how you portray it in poetic form, thank you so much for looking in, I’m delighted you chose this particular one to comment on, cheers David

Thank you Anaya, not at all, I’m not being vicariously punished for anything you did, this sort of thing happens from time to time, But I’m delighted you are brave enough to state it publicly as I do myself when I feel the need, the soup is a most peculiar place at times, and can be very petty especially the contests lol, cheers David

I'm so sorry, David. Not even room for one more #33, what a shame. Perhaps my flattery went over their heads as well. I may not be a poet, but I like poetry now, nonetheless, I explained what I'm all about in my BIO, that I am here to learn. Heya Anaya, I’ve been plagued by a burnt out muse for a couple of weeks now, and am trying to invigorate myself to write something meaningful, I’m honestly just glad to have put something raw together for the contest, your comment is too kind cheers David
