Overwhelmed By Life
Overwhelmed by life
That’s what I am
Feet on the ground
Head in the sand
It’s safer that way
Hiding the pain
The tears that I cry
Again and again
I cry them alone
So others won’t see
What I’ve become
What’s happened to me
The person I was
Confident and strong
Is no longer there
Everything’s gone
But one day I know
It will come back to me
The person I was
The good that I see
The good in others
Is what I will hope
I have it in me
Perhaps others can cope
With all of their pain
But at least not alone
Someone to care
And then bring them home
Home to a life
No pain, just love
Caring about them
As God’s will above
