Overcoming Fear
When, but a child I was so full of fears
Darkness, snakes, spiders, to name just a few.
Just a thought of them ‘twud bring me to tears
Rational thinking, out the window flew.
Then my father stepped in, took my hand
He said,” The darkness always brings the light.
No need to fear all creatures on the land”,
And then he vowed to make everything right.
He cured me of my strong fear of a snake
By stroking one, it was not scary at all.
A black fuzzy spider would make me shake
To finally hold one, I rose to his call.
I’ve since grown up ‘n most fears are gone
Because my father was right all along!
