Outside the Dentists Office

The pains that pain Are the most anticipated. You know the gain But you just feel defeated. Imagine the pain that waits As it crawls steadily towards you You think, ‘’run to the gate’’ But the fear of fear stops you. The blood in your veins stands And then it thickens and turns to ice You feel the pain arrive and arise Even before it really does. The pain that pains the most Is the one that is anticipated. You can see it move towards you But always too scared to run So you stand firm and wait Hoping you won’t give in and gallop away. \\written outside the dentists office with my heart in my mouth

Oh I can relate to this big time - I used to be terrified of going but when my son was born i didn't want him to be scared - I found a very understanding dentist and have no fear now:-) hugs Jan xx

thank you Jan for the visit. some pain we just have to endure to prevent worse pain in the future so we hang in there. but a visit to the dentist I'll always fear. but i wrote two poems while sitting in line, it eased the tension.

Excellent write Marion. I am fortunate in that I have never been afraid of the dentist, I know many people who are though ! I hope you are feeling better now.
