I'm here to bust wide open The hidden world of poetry Some of the things I've witnessed Most of the things I've seen It goes deep beyond measure Even deeper than I fear In the laughter of its rhythm Through the rhyming of its tears When you take poetry to the heart Like a literary worm it burrows deep Listen close when I say it's so I know cause it's happened to me Where it works it's way into the brain So it's all you think about Listen my friends as I tell you all this Beyond a shadow of a doubt I'm not trying to say to stay away Just a warning to be mindful In this day and age that's so close to the edge It never hurts to be extra careful While some may call me a traitor Letting go secrets that shouldn't be known I'm standing strong and refuse to run I just felt you should be warned...
