Out of Style
Forgive me my dear, it's been awhile,
I've fallen out of style.
I still think husbands and wives should be true
it seems to me it’s the proper thing to do.
It’s been awhile,
I’ve fallen out of style.
I still think there is nobility in earning one’s way
and living off others is less than OK.
It’s been awhile,
I’ve fallen out of style.
I still think some things are radically wrong,
and I still get chills singing our nation’s song.
It’s been awhile,
I’ve fallen out of style.
I still think no one but us makes our success
and it isn’t the result of inheritance or address.
It’s been awhile,
I’ve fallen out of style.
I still think our Constitution was divinely inspired
and He prepared the framers who were required.
It’s been awhile,
I’ve fallen out of style.
Yes, dear, I think some things in mortality matter
and claims to the contrary are empty chatter.
It’s been awhile,
I’ve fallen out of style.
