Our Winter Garden
Winter is here, garden to be sorted,
New seeds to go in a wintry bed.
Got Poppies this year, varieties many,
I asked of my friends , do you have any?
They came by the thousand, I was amazed,
Where to plant them was the question raised.
All around the garden, side, front and back
Some at the roadside and along the track.
The work is proceeding, filling pots by the score.
A profusion of colours, I can't ask for more.
I'm good for an hour, it's the best I can do,
The works never ending, it's no use pretending.
I know that in Spring, results that will thrill,
New plants, Poppies, Roses and Daffodil .
All the Winters work is never in vain,
The garden will be splendid once again.
