Our Turn

It is widely supposed and loudly disclosed that there is life beyond after we're done and gone. Perhaps there is, perhaps not surely a mind-wrenching thought. One thing is as certain as birth we all got a turn on earth. Let us then ever-grateful be that we knew sun and sea. As for the matter of a second life give it no place for angst and strife. Rather adopt a contrite attitude and be graced by humble gratitude.

SILPIKA, thank you, but I'm certain I'd be a much better poet if I wrote like you. You create awesome images and endearing rhymes. Hugs, Paul (Apology for the tardy response.)

I agree, Paul, as an agnostic I don't know if there is something after the physical death, but we should appreciate the joys of life while we are here~

It's bothered me for years: abuse of the word "kmow." Some insist on using it to characterize something that is unknowable. I'm glad I'm not alone in being so bothered. Hugs, Paul

Hello Paul ... life is a journey for each individual and we should enjoy it as well as respectful to others. Like you, as you wrote, I have no idea about the afterlife - thanks Paul - Lindsay

Lindsay, thank you for noting that life is a journey unique to each individual, as indeed it is. I suppose that's part of what makes it interesting--and challenging. Hugs, Paul

wise words indeed Paul, my husband's cancer has taught us one thing, to live life to the full and enjoy every moment. I have no particular faith now, all I know is when i am gone I will be going somewhere hot - to the crem! hugs Jan x

I don't want to think about when you are gone, Jan, because I want to read at least another 10 years of your poetry (of course, I'll probably be gone). I value and appreciate your comment. Hugs, Paul
