Our Own Way

The iron gate, it swung fast shut Reminding me of life, complete We must pass through on our way Relying then, on our own feet Walking forward into day Each day anew, with hopes to free Releasing bonds we so abuse As eyes open, so wide to see Follow pavement, so laid before Or make our own, to place our feet Just move ahead, one step each time To voyage into destiny
