Our love story It was the year twenty ten When he felt his heart raising because of love For years he witnessed our spirit connecting Through the eyes of love he saw our future Sadly he couldn't share his feelings with me because the walls between us were very high My woman pride was his stumbling block He kept contemplating on a breakthrough In his mind all the ways leading to me were blocked Eleven years later he started knocking down the walls between us Eventually he spotted a weak point in my Facebook wall That is when he got his breakthrough He left a friend request on my wall As I was browsing the list of friends to approve and I saw his request on the queue I did not think he will end up being my boo So a month later I accept his friend request We started talking and I was taken by his view His views about life was immaculate He was not the boy I once knew I am glad my childhood memories of him did not become another barrier in our love journey Our conversations were honest and true On the Fifth May twenty, twenty one I witnessed that, NOT all men are trash On this day he won I gave my soul over to him I said to myself "Gugu now you are done" I couldn't overrule the thought, "he is the one" He introduced me to his heart and spirit Its true when they say home is where the heart is He made his heart my home In every home, members battles with differences We too, battled with our own colliding thoughts Sometimes our personalities would clash But we made sure we strengthen our affection Revisiting our arguments when we are both calm Gave us a chance to do some correction Love is a wonderful thing Especially when we both have the same direction I thank my better half for his love and guidance Everyday I pray to God for our protection In my war room nothing is hidden, I tell it like it is I ask for help to triumph over our Imperfection Our coming anniversary marks the beautiful journey of our love story
