Our Hearts Remember
Listen to poem:
A sacred time for lovers, when we kiss
As lips tremble our hearts yearn for more
A secret sadness kept, we can't dismiss
To hold in cupped hands tears we must deplore
We keep silent our love that's free and pure
And wear cloaks of heartache in which we're clad
In battle caught, where reason is impure
We will fight each storm in this world gone mad
Love shall be free to flourish, not contain
So lover's hearts can bloom in purest light
Our love now chained, yearns to be free from pain
To reap love's gift of freedom to unite
Our hearts remember each kiss we confess
And walk the steps where lovers caress
